September 8th 2009 Hey all ! I know it's been forever since I have updated this, but figured I would tell you all that we are getting the band up and rolling again. Over the past few mon ths Kurt and I have been writting some new material, and we now have a drummer who is Crazy anxious to play for you all. March 15th 2009 It's that time of year again ! Kurt Cobain Tribute Show VI is underway ! We have some familiar faces returning to ther stage, as well as a new Bassist. Opening the show off is a couple of guys from Servants Of Society who have put together a set especially for this show, and have named themselves The Dropouts. Kyle who has graced the Cobain Tribute show stage on many occasions with Ends & Means is returning with his new band Cocktail Hostages. HCE who played last year have returned to play again, last year they put on a great set of covers from other influential Seattle bands, much of who led Kurt and Nirvana to the sound we all know. So look forward to another great show from them. We are pleased to say that we have Teen Touch taking all the proceeds again to support our local youth through many different issues they may face in their day to day lives. Make sure to get your tickets, and of course we want to make this a bigger success than ever ! The show is at The Pyramid this year, on April 3rd. Come out and support this show, it has been a HUGE success in the past, and always can be better than ever ! Dec 18th 2008 Giv'R would like to thank both Dan and Scott for their time in the band, Dan left about a month ago, and we just wrapped up the last jam with Scotty last night. It's been a huge pleasure having them in the band, good luck to both of them for the future. That being said of course, we need new members hahaha. I think main focus is on a drummer, but first Cam and I will be writing a bunch of new songs while we have the chance, THEN we will focus on teaching new members the old and new songs. All in hopes to be ready and back in full force for April. You all know what April means to Giv'R, we have our annual Kurt Cobain Tribute Show for charity. This will be 6 years running, I can't wait !!!!!!!!!! Talk to you all soon ! Tyler -- Giv'R Nov 13th 2008 Just came off a great weekend at The Zoo with The New Duncan Imperials. If you weren't there you missed great shows. The New Duncans are great ! We had some pictures taken on Friday night by Empire Photography, Huge thanks to Brian for coming down and taking those, we will get some posted up soon. THEN Saturday Night Vince from Digital Iris Media was down at the show, and he took some great video, so we will get something going for that soon for all to view. Otherwise, we recorded our newest song over the weekend as well, it is turning out great ! This is the one that will be submitted to the Sleemans compilation disc. We will get a clip up here for you all in the coming weeks once the mix and master are complete. Hope to see you all out on Dec 4th @ The Academy, we love doing acoustic shows, and we have a lot of fun putting them together. I've seen them, and trust me, they are worth the wait!!! Cam August 18th 2008 We heard back from Freq 107, WE WON last week at the Sleemans no label battle of the bands !!! Thanks to all you drunks who joined us since it was a drink to win contest LOL just kidding. But seriously it was a drink Sleemans to win contest, and apparently between us and our fans, we drank the most Sleemans. Look for one of our songs to be added to the Sleemans compilation disc coming out in the fall at a Vendor near you, so for all of you who aren't huge Sleemans fans, your gonna hafta choke it down once more to get the disc HAHAHA! We have added another September show, AND this time it is a weekend ! So for all you people who love us, and stay out WAY later than you want to supporting us knowing you work at 5,6,7 am, can come out and not dread your morning. August 15th 2008 Huge thanks to those who were out on Wednesday at Dylans, results have not come through yet, so I will keep you all posted. Great meeting people out at XFest this year, hope people got good use, or atleast a good laugh with our promotional condoms. For anyone who hasn't seen them, they are real, totally functional condoms with a sticker that says "I got laid thanks to Giv'R" Who wouldn't want one of those ?!?!?!? As you can see, we have a couple more dates coming up, one who is with REV THEORY From New York ! That will be awesome, you have maybe all heard their singles on the radio "Hell Yeah" as well as "Light It Up" I am getting posters today, so will have more info. August 4th 2008 Congrats to the bands who won the Power 97 Class of 2008 contest, check out www.power97.com for details. We have just entered a new battle of the bands through Freq 107 called the "Sleemans No Label Battle Of The Bands" Each week one band will win a spot on a compilation disc that Sleemans will put in their beer cases in the fall. WE NEED YOU ALL !!!! come out, drink Sleemans, and vote for us. Each Sleemans beer you buy, you get a ballot to vote for the bands. The contest will run ten weeks (beginning Aug. 6th) every Wednesday at Dylan O'Connors @ 1875 Pembina Hwy. Come out, BUY SLEEMANS !!! VOTE FOR GIV'R. July 12th 2008 There is an online voting poll for this years Power 97 Class of 2008 contest. So please go to www.power97.com, click on class of 2008, then to local bands and please vote for us. It is based on a scale of 1-10, of course the more 10's we can get the better for us ! I am not too sure if you can vote daily, only once per computer, or how it works, but atleast vote once please,and test it to see if you can vote more than once. Also, come down and see our show with The Supersuckers, it will be a great night !
Tyler -- Giv'R July 7th 2008 Huge thanks to those who have been to the last couple of shows ! Countryfest was a blast. it was really wet and muddy Thursday night when we played, anbd unfortunately too many people were hibernating in their tents when we played, but the troupers were out, and we thank you. We all have stories of the trials and tribulations from that weekend of getting there, and back. I am not going to post them, but if you would like, just ask us, and maybe we will share lol. We started giving away Giv'R condoms at countryfest, so hope people are using them, and remembering our website after and coming to see us. The last show was Canada Day at the Zoo, and quite a few people were out for that, we played as a three piece which is a little different from the normal. Cam was in Alberta for a vacation. I am HUGELY looking forward to the Supersuckers show on the 30th. These guys are out of Seattle, and will kick serious ass ! Come on down !

We will also be in full force with new T-Shirts, Womens Hot Pants Underwear as well as a new demo, which includes new recordings. Come down and see a show !
Tyler - Giv'R April 10th/08 Grrreat Success!! (said like Borat) Cobain Show was awesome. Lots of Nirvana, lots of drinking and broken instruments. Need i say more? Huge thanks to everyone who supported a great cause by buying a ticket. We raised $1200 for Teen Touch (Youth Speak) after bar fees and nonsuch. Big thanks to "Ends and Means", "HCE" and "Noumenon" for helping put on such a great show. Cam

Jan 23rd/08 Last night was the Bodog Regional Finals, First of all we just want to thank EVERYONE who came out & supported us ! That is great, sadly we did not make it into the next round. But we will keep on Giv'n'R anywhere and everywhere that we can ! Good luck to the bands who made it. You are all Bastards ! lol (I mean that in the nicest way possible). Jan 19th/08 As of this week, we have put up another 50 signs that are bigger, badder, and better! Please keep an eye out for the new 11x17 bright yellow monstrosities as we froze our asses off in the -43 C to put them up. To prove our cold weather experience, watch the Shaw video above and check out the weather warning at the bottom. This show was aired the day after we put up the signs. This venue is great, they have a nice big stage and good sound system, and best of all there is a pizza place in the building that has great pizza. This is taking place on Saturday, Jan 12th. We are playing first, at around 9:30 followed by Lax Luster and Liquor Store Beauty Queens. Tix are $5 @ the door, or you can ask us how to get in FREE!. Contact us for details. What a fun and energetic show. WE ARE IN THE TOP THREE!!! So now, on January 22nd 2008, bands from Regina will be making a trip to Winnipeg to get their socks rocked off! This will be the Regional finals against 5 bands from Regina. We would love your continual support to make the one top spot to go to Toronto. Tickets are $15 for this next round, and as we know, Winnipeggers cringe at such a high ticket price, so we are sweetening the deal with some gifts from us for buying those tickets, if you wanna know what we will give you, please email us at givrband@gmail.com and we will tell you. I think you will all be very happy with what we are doing to show our Thanks to all of you ! And of course if you missed the last one, we would love to have you out as well for the next one, and you will as well get the package we have put together to help your decision in spending $15 for a local show.
